A rambling of menial, unexciting, not-so-ground-breaking thoughts by Amy Wordsworth NB; If you are a prospective employer - I am one earth-shattering human being, and of course just stated the above to create an endearing, affable and absolutely hilarious online persona. On Friday I attended the launch party for Saatchi & Saatchi’s new T-Mobile ad at the infamous Pregnant Man.
Boom. Welcome to Brighton!
As I stepped into the new Saatchi & Saatchi X office on Tuesday, over the recently engraved ‘Nothing is Impossible’ sign, I remember feeling as though such words had never rung so true.
There I was, a clumsy girl from Manchester, who lives life as a series of one embarrassing moment after the other, starting my first day on the dream job. ARGH.
It had been nearly 6 months since I began my campaign in the run up to the ‘Lift Pitch’ day on 8th April. I’d made a number of ridiculous videos, got through the Lift Pitch with a very cheesy, self-written poem and managed to survive a gruelling day at ‘Boot Camp’. With bated breath, I awaited the verdict from Claire Knight - Talent Director on the leadership team, and was thrilled to be offered a 6-week summer placement along with Emily Uram, Ryan Wain & Laura Vandenbergh - 3 of the most talented people I’ve ever met.
The 6 weeks were amazing. Us four grads formed a mini-team in the agency and grew really close not only as colleagues but also as friends. We worked with some really inspirational people and learnt so much. It got tough towards the end because ultimately we were fighting for the same job(s) but I think we all thrived under pressure, and came out on top <insert overused Charlie Sheen quote here>.
Some time after the 6 (very intense!) weeks were up I was offered a job, which I responded to with a strange outburst of dancing combined with hyperventilating.
So here I am :D
I felt a bit rusty at the beginning of the week, but it feels great to be back and i’m quickly getting into the swing of things again. We have a couple of new exciting projects bubbling away, and I’ve been Xploring twice already. Xploring is a type of live research we do in real environments to uncover insights -
If you want to learn how a lion hunts, you go to the jungle not the zoo.
I’m going to try my best to keep this updated with my Saatchi X antics over the next 12-months, so stay tuned :)
Hello. It’s been a while :]
Nobody ever warned me, that once you become a planner, you never look at shopping in the same way again.
Having been tasked with some research for a well-known brand of milk, my mentor Pieter-Paul sent me off out to the local supermarkets to watch people, and develop an understanding of…
Growing up in the North of England meant that between re-runs of Coronation Street and a weekly session in the Mecca bingo, I was continually subjected to copious amounts of tea drinking. Whether it be at my Nan’s, uncles or within the family home, there would always be a pot on the go, forever…
